FAQ

Can you give me a rough estimate as to the cost of your services?
Sure! While a majority of what I do here at Cedar + Pines is highly individualized, this breakdown can help you get an idea:
| Photography session.....................................................................starting at $ 200
| Custom calligraphy projects......................................................starting at $ 150
| Calligraphy envelope addressing............................................$ 2 - $ 4 per envelope
how far in advance should I book calligraphy services?
The sooner the better! For weddings, graduations, or large mailings, it’s best to book as soon as possible to ensure plenty of time for addressing, ink drying, and careful packaging. Having your finalized guest list early allows me to begin addressing envelopes right away and ensures everything is completed in plenty of time for mailing. If you’re still gathering addresses, I recommend sending what you have so I can get started!

what are some examples of "the postmarked session"?
Think of The Postmarked Session as a tiny story where the last chapter is the mailbox. Ink dries, the postage is applied, and the letter begins its journey while still in the moment. The magic is that the act of sending becomes part of the story photographed.
Here are some real-world situations where that makes beautiful sense:
Long Distance Relationships
For couples who live apart. One partner writes a letter to the other during the session and mails it immediately. I've photographed the process of writing the letter, folding it, stamping it with postage, and putting it in the mailbox. These photos can be shared with the recipient after they receive your letter and saved, showing the act of loving someone from afar.
Military Send-Off
Someone about to leave for deployment writes a letter to: their spouse, their parents, or other loved ones. .
The letter is mailed immediately and becomes part of the moment. The photos can be shared afterward however makes the most sense.
